Last night candy was bought, and tonight trick-or-treaters were not necessarily anticipated or expected, but they were definitely welcome. However it seems my premonition was correct. People either no longer go door to door on Halloween night or they just avoid gated communities. So the chocolate miniature candies sit in a dish by the door and quietly but persistently call my name.
