Today I officially started Christmas shopping. I figure I needed to start now since we can actually afford gifts for each other this year. No big crunch on the budget to worry about as long as we don’t go insane. I also think it may take me awhile to come up with gift ideas for everyone. For instance, I have absolutely no clue what Adam might possibly want, or what Paul’s brothers might like. And I haven’t even begun to brainstorm for Paul, though he shouldn’t be difficult to buy for since he just started working on a list of components he wants in order to build his dream computer.
Jeremy is usually fairly easy for me to shop for … I actually kind of have to narrow things down a little because I tend to want to get him lots of things. I end up deciding on things that no one else will ever buy him (including himself). Most of what I get him is pretty useless. Who am I kidding? I get him tchotchkes, or I make them. But still, he’s the only one I can really do that to/for that doesn’t seem to mind and might actually think it’s as fun as I do. When he ends up being a crusty old man he’ll probably have a sock drawer full of the things I’ve given him.
I think I know what I’ll be getting my parents, and a few other people too. I guess I should write down who all we’re going to be spreading Christmas joy to. I should probably also make sure all the addresses we have are correct. I know, Christmas is still more than two months away but I want to get things right. This will be the first in many years we get to be at home for the holidays. Home always has the best shower and the most comfortable bed. And this also means I get to decorate and we have a fireplace to hang the stockings on.
*Sigh* I wish I could put some of this enthusiasm toward Halloween. We never have trick-or-treaters.
