Since Texas allows early voting, Paul and I headed to the polls this morning. I have to say that I’m rather proud of us for doing our civic duty and for attempting to be as informed as possible about it. We’ve both been following the election process closely this year. We started really paying attention just before the Texas primaries. In an effort to be prepared for voting I printed out a sample ballot and spent several days doing research on the candidates last week. We’re quite familiar with the presidential candidates, but there hasn’t been a lot of campaign information around here about those running for other elected positions. I have seen a few commercials for the major parties running for Senate, but commercials never tell you anything useful. Even with all my research there were several people I just couldn’t find any decent information about, so I ended up leaving a few places unmarked on my ballot. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for the people just because of party affiliation.
Now it’s a matter of sitting back and waiting for the election results on November 4th.
