The last Domo-kun for now. He was an awful lot of fun to draw for some reason. It may have been the pointy teeth.

The Dallas Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings in the Joe Louis Arena last night. I find this immensely satisfying.

It looks like I am one accident away from having Paul revoke all my privileges with sharp objects and sources of heat. Tuesday afternoon I managed to slice one of my index fingers open. It was only deep enough to require a band-aid, nothing more. Then last night I followed it up with another burn. This time the burn is on the back of my hand instead of my arm, although still on my left. Paul was home and sweet enough to bandage me up with sterile gauze and tape. It throbbed a lot more than the burn from last week, and I think it might be worse, albeit smaller. I’ve decided it isn’t that I’m completely uncoordinated, but rather I’m easily distracted by other things.

The rabbit is also from NHK and is part of the Domo-kun shorts they run. I’ve never watched the shorts dubbed or subtitled, so I can only tell those who don’t already know that Domo-kun lives with him and he seems to serve in a grandfatherly role.
I thought I would be posting late today because I had plans this morning that were going to interfere with my normal schedule. Upon waking, the streets were, and for the moment still are, covered in a thin layer of ice. This being Texas, and the metroplex at that, no one knows how to drive on ice but they try anyway which leads to even more dangerous road conditions than usual. The weathermen are freaking out the way they do this time of year, and the school district has closed the schools for the day. Again, since this is Texas, the good news is that the sun will be bright and shiny and everything should be melted away by midafternoon. In the meantime, I’ll be hunkering down under layers of warm blankets with a good book and my trusty DS.

I’m feeling awfully grumpy today, so I made a Domo-kun to put me in a better mood. I’m not sure it’s working. Right now I’m debating whether or not I want to go ahead and finish the month out with the FFXII creatures that I had planned to do at the beginning of the year, or if it’s time to just move on. I like the Vivian I made yesterday, but the level of detail and layering meant that it took me more than three hours from start to finish. The others I have queued up are just as complex and I’m not sure I have the time to devote to them.
