I really need to find a better way to organize my pencils. My system right now dissolves into chaos entirely too easily. I’ve ruled out all the craft-organization kits and scrapbook material organizers I’ve seen. They just don’t cut the mustard. I’ve been looking at some of the mid range to higher end tackleboxes and been considering the possibilities, but I have yet to see something that is close enough to what I require.
Today’s shrinky dink reminded me that it’s been over a year since the last time I went to Homestar Runner. That really shouldn’t be the case since I have a link to it on the right. I did contemplate drawing a different wrestling mask for Lucha, since they can be so colorful, but in the end I decided to stay true to how he appears when he’s rolled up. I’m sure you’re all trembling fearfully in the presence of his shirtlessness.
Yesterday I was told that the things I make are “cute.” If I had heard that a dozen or so years ago, when I somewhat considered myself an artist, it probably would have bothered me. But I was younger and sillier then, and small descriptive words like that always offended me. I’m older, a little less silly, and certainly don’t consider myself an artist. I’m pretty sure “cute” sums it up these days.
Yesterday was filled with all sorts of unpleasant adventures for me. From a leaky toilet to an uncooperative lawn mower and a dozen tiny things in between that made the day memorable in a miserable way. I survived it though, and so far today things are definitely looking up.
This is the last of the cousins from the original Katamari Damacy game. Tomorrow I will begin creating the cousins that were added in the second installment. I haven’t quite decided which order I will make them all in. I would like to keep the odder ones well disbursed among the more ordinary shaped ones.
