just another error in judgement

So much for my efforts to get back on the ShrinkyDink track and to attempt regularly scheduled posts again. Those plans were shot down when Paul was offered and then accepted a job offer in an entirely different state. We rushed around like madmen to find a place to live, pack up our belongings and relocate all in the span of roughly less than a month. I’m exhausted.

Our official move in day was last week, and after a lot of help (thanks everyone!) and diligent effort we only have four boxes left to unpack. That’s not quite right. At least two of the boxes are partially unpacked, a third will probably remained packed up just not taped shut, and the fourth, well I guess we’ll wait and see about that one. Right now I’m trying to organize all the things that have already made it out of the box so I can find room for all the things still in boxes. I also have hopes of putting stuff up on the walls before the week ends.

Paul’s been talking about a venture into Alabama geocaching this weekend, but if it rains (like it’s supposed to) I don’t really think I want to be knee deep in mud at least not without some semblance of familiarity with the local flora and fauna. I’ve mentioned going out to see a movie or possibly attending the Star Wars nerd-o-rama at the Space and Rocket Center but I think it’s in town until sometime in September so we should have plenty of time to catch it before it leaves.

So I realize that this space has been sitting here and moldering for entirely too long. I’ve actually written a new blurb every month but none of them have managed to make it beyond a rough draft. I think I got a little burnt out posting daily for the first half of 2009.

The good news is that this lovely and exceedingly long hiatus has left me feeling refreshed. I plan on creating batches of shrinkydinks again soon. Unfortunately I won’t be able to post any pictures until after we acquire a new camera. Ours bit the dust in early April.

Anyway, I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone wandering by that interesting things (and even not very interesting things) might start appearing here once more.

Our power was out for over three hours last night. As much as I love rain, I really hate tornado warnings.

If you’ve tried accessing this site in the past 24 hours you may have had some problems. I’m hoping everything is fixed now, although I’ve noticed the two comments that were made under yesterday’s post have disappeared. They may be irretrievably lost to the wasteland of the internet.

I’m finally starting to feel better and now that I can breathe normally again (for the most part), I would like to be able to laugh without it transforming into a tear inducing coughing fit.
